I work with firms, investors, and institutions trying to make sense of how geopolitics is reshaping the global economy, and what it means for the decisions in front of them.
The questions I am usually asked look like these. What does a new export control cost the firms inside its scope, and how long will the licensing take? Which parts of a supply chain are exposed to a partner government's retaliation, and which only look exposed? What is a tariff schedule likely to do to an investment already committed? I answer them with the same evidence I use in published research, and I say when the evidence will not support an answer. Engagements run from a single briefing to a sustained advisory relationship.

Strategic & economic advisory
Briefings and ongoing counsel on geoeconomic and policy risk: sanctions and export controls, supply-chain exposure, tariffs and trade policy, and the broader securitization of commerce. Most of this work is for leadership teams and investment committees weighing a decision against a policy environment that keeps moving. I hold a TS/SCI clearance and Special Sworn Status with the U.S. Census Bureau.

Expert commentary & testimony
I serve as an expert economist for media, litigation, and arbitration, and I provide testimony and briefings to legislative bodies and other expert audiences. Trade and economic statecraft are the subjects I am most often asked to speak to on the record.
